Rules

LEAGUE FEES AND REGISTRATION

  • 4 registered players minimum
  • 12 registered players maximum
  • Team Sponsor Fee - $55 per team payable once each season by no later than the second week. Invoices will be presented to each establishment by the League Manager.
  • Team League Fees - $7 per player payable each week. $28 for the team. Fees are allocated as follows:
    • $3.30 League payback at end of year based on team wins
    • $2.50 League expenses
    • $1.20 Party fund
  • It is the team captain’s responsibility to make sure that $28 ($7 per player) is in the envelope with score sheet each week. Teams not paying in full each week will be charged a $5 late fee.

GENERAL RULES AND SETUP

  • League play begins at 6:45pm ET with a 15 minute leeway. 
  • Please be courteous and cooperative. If you know your team is going to be late for a GOOD reason, please call your opposing team to inform them of what’s going on.
  • League play consists of 7 doubles games played by one team at the location of another. 
  • *Preferably on two boards so that 2 games can be played at once.
  • Minimum of 2 players present to start and/or continue a game
  • 27 feet (if possible) between fronts of boxes.
  • Boxes/Boards should be 2’x4’.
  • 4 bags of different colors for each team. Bags should be 6”x6” with 1lb of corn/corn alternative inserted into each bag.
  • All 8 bags begin on one end.
  • Side of boards is selected by Home team.
  • Bag color is selected by Away team.

GAMEPLAY

  • Coinflip or game of chance determines having first "Honors".
  • One of partners on Honors team begins by throwing bag at opposite box.
  • Players may throw from anywhere behind the front of the box they are throwing from.
  • Game continues by players taking alternate turns to throw all 8 bags.
  • At the end of the round, the team who scored the highest on that round receives or maintains Honors.
  • Any part of foot/shoe passing beyond the front of the box during a shot results in a “foot foul.” A foot foul means that the tossed bag doesn’t count and should be removed from play.
  • No mid-round adjustment of the boxes allowed.
  • Game is played to 21 points; however, a game MUST be won by 2 or more points and ALL points over 21 count for individual scores.

SCORING 

  • ·         Bag in the hole is 3 points.
    • Bag hanging in the hole is 1 point.
  • Bag on the board is 1 point.
  • Bag touching ground is 0 points.
  • Bag hanging off board and resting on bag that is on the ground. If can remove ground without making hanging bag fall, 1 point for hanging bag.
  • Bag hits ground and bounces onto board, bag removed


FORFEITS AND RESCHEDULES
·         Forfeits should be rare and should be viewed as unacceptable without reasonable explanation. Two team no-shows in a row may be cause for team removal/replacement.
·         If a team fails to show, the opposing team will pay weekly fees and play the scheduled 7 league games to receive their individual points, and be credited with 7 team wins. The two players for each doubles game will pitch shoes back and forth to each other counting their individual points; when both players’ total points reach at least 21, the game is over. It is not necessary to have a full 4-player team to play.
·         Reschedules are only allowed for extenuating circumstances where both teams agree. If only one or two people are going to be unavailable, make arrangements for a sub(s). All reschedules will occur no later than 13 days from the original date. No reschedules can occur after xxxxx.

POSTSEASON

  • At the end of regular season play there will be a seeded league championship playoff among the top 4 teams. The playoff will be single elimination in a best of 7 format.
  • A team trophy will be awarded to the League Champions. A roving team Championship trophy will be displayed in the sponsor’s location.




2017 Season

The 2017 season will start xxxxx and will continue for xxxxx weeks with regular play ending xxxxx.There will be no play on xxxxx. Each team opposes every other team twice (once at “home” and once “away”). Playoffs are scheduled to begin on xxx and finish xxxxx.
